Bob Ratliff Blog: Community guidelines 2016 Jumpstart Challenge in Active Rain

Community guidelines 2016 Jumpstart Challenge in Active Rain

ActiveRain Community Guidelines

When asked by Lynn B Friedman  to choose one or two community guidelines that contribute to ActiveRain success for the 2016 blog jumpstart challenge-grow our
personal best.

Respect ~ Respect ~ Respect

All of ActiveRain community guidelines are extremely important and I have to admit when I first started blogging I wasn’t aware of the many do’s and don’ts of blogging and commenting in the rain.

Two that stands out to me and contribute to ActiveRain success is

(1.)“Do Not Personally Attack Another Person” or “slander another person”.

(How we treat others is how we are perceived as treating our clients.)

(I’m one for keeping politics to myself, not all people will see eye to eye and it's best to keep personal opinions to oneself.)

(2.) “Do not violate any laws of your local jurisdiction or that include Fair Housing Laws”.

(We often find answers to local jurisdiction through other members blog post but keep in mind to do due-diligence making sure it pertains to your local state jurisdiction.) (Fair Housing Laws is important when advertising and treating all parties equally so make sure to follow all fair housing laws.

ActiveRain was built for real estate professionals to network and create a sense of community so let us all play in the “ActiveRain sandbox” nicely.

I have seen too many times where someone decides to get on their high horse and attack another person's views or blog.  They just need to keep their snarkiness to themselves and MOVE ON.  Great reminder.

Bob,

Great reminder to all, and we do need to respect opposing views.  Well said, A

Bob two good Community Guidelines to highlight and follow.  Things go much better for everyone if we follow the rules.

'Let's all play nicely in the ActiveRain sandbox.'  This is perfect ending to great post, Bob.
